This descriptive study aim to assess the extent of compliance of Marine and Aquatic Science to library standards and level of users'<br/>satisfaction along the dimensions of Collection Management, Physical Facilities, Services and Linkages and Networking. Data were collected using a questionnaire adopted from the AACCUP Standards, and CHED Library Standards respectively. The participants were the administrators, faculty, librarians and students of the 5 state universities and colleges in the Region 1. Frequency and weighted mean were used to treat the extent of compliance to library standards and level of satisfaction. Pearson Product Moment Correlation was used to determine the significant relationship between the said variables. Moreover, frequency and ranking was used to determine the problems encountered by the library users. It was found out that the extent of compliance to the standards for marine and aquatic sciences was highly complied. Results show that library users for Marine and Aquatic Science libraries were highly satisfied in terms of the physical facilities. There is also significant relationship manifested between the extent of compliance to library standards and the level of satisfaction of users. Based from the results, a three-year development plan was crafted, validated and proposed to improve the four dimensions of library standards. |
