Summary, etc. This research study aimed to explore and understand the lived experiences of public secondary school heads in La Union Schools Division in leadership. Interpretative transformational phenomenological approach was utilized in this study. A total of 20 school<br/>personnel - ten (10) school heads and ten (10) faculty presidents - served as the participants of this study. In gathering the needed data, the researcher made use of an in-depth one-on-one interview which was done through face-to-face, semi-structured interview. Through the Colaizzi's method, eight (8 themes emerged as the experiences of school heads in practicing transformational leadership. Providing support and creating a nurturing and empowering environment were the practices for enhancing the morale of the teachers, while achieving remarkable results and regular monitoring and evaluations were the practices for enhancing the teaching performance of teachers. Difficulty in enacting positive and productive change and difficulty in carrying out supervisory tasks were the issues or challenges faced by the school heads in school administration and instructional supervision. Practicing proactive change management process and employing self-directed learning were the coping mechanisms of the school heads in school administration and instructional supervision. It is concluded that transformational leadership helps the school heads motivate the teachers to enhance their teaching practices, as well as their morale. It is recommended that the validated training program should be considered for adoption and utilization by the Department of Education authorities in retooling and upskilling school heads to further improve their transformational leadership practices.
