Summary, etc. This study aimed to analyze the lived experiences and challenges encountered by the heads of Gender and Development (GAD),
Environmental Management (EM) and Physical Resource Development (PRD). This study utilized the phenomenological approach of research. A focus group discussion and one-on-one interview were used to gather data. The participants were the 10 focal persons and heads of the three units in the 6 Campuses of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University during the School Year 2019-2020. It was found that being planners, implementers, facilitators, and supervisors were the identified management roles in relation to resource development activities and programs. Preparing reports, raising awareness, attending meetings, and monitoring and evaluating activities were the job-specified functions experienced in the implementation of GAD, EM, PRD programs and activities. Promotion of programs, attendance to national events, spearheaded symposiums and other related programs, conduct of researches, and championed national awards were the success stories in the implementation of GAD/EM/PRD activities. Coordination with the other heads, generating support from the administration, and disseminating information to concern individuals were the challenges encountered in the implementation of GAD, EM, and PRD activities. It was concluded that the management roles of the Unit heads are essential to direct the activities and programs. Unit heads who carried out their job-specified functions contribute in the implementation of GAD/ EM/ PRD programs and activities. They take pride in giving their
best efforts which were transformed as their success stories. They face challenges positively by being internally motivated to work collaboratively to bring impact to the outcome of their activities and programs. The study recommended that the proposed Resource development manual of operation, crafted by the researcher should be adopted and implemented by DMMMSU.
