This qualitative research examined the lived experiences of local chief executives to appreciate the stories of the local chief executives in attaining their Seal of Good Local Governance that valued their integrity and good performance in managing the resources of the local governments. The data gathered from the 15 local chief executives of local governments in Region I through interviews were interpreted using thematic analysis. The findings identified the following themes: performance management, scaling-up for continuing governance reforms, knowledge sharing, and local government performance, and institutional capacity. A validated guide and a dialogue tool to facilitate the path to share and reuse best management practices and innovations of the local governments through the concept of knowledge sharing, the local government performance, and results on goals will be enhanced to achieve local governance performance excellence in Region I.
