The study utilized the descriptive research design. It is descriptive because it described to some extent the status of the implementation of the alternative learning programs and projects in the Division of San Fernando City. It described the Alternative Learning System (ALS) in terms of the (a) profile of ALS implementers; (b) learning materials (learning modules and supplementary materials) being used; (c) number of learning centers being utilized; and (d) ALS programs implemented during the ALS year 2011-2012. Likewise, it also described the level of implementation of the programs and projects of alternative learning system and the degree of seriousness of the problems encountered in the implementation ALS programs and projects.
The respondents of the study were the total enumeration of eight (8) ALS implementers in the Division of San Fernando City, Ls Union.
The researcher made use of the questionnaire-checklist as its main data gathering tool.
The data gathered were tallied and presented in tabular form to ensure accuracy and order, and for systematic analysis of the processed data.
The percentage and weighted mean were used to analyzed the data gathered for the study.
