This descriptive research assessed the reading skills of grade 7 students of Techinical-Vocational Schools in La Union- District I in terms of reading speed, word recognition, reading comprehension and vocabulary during the school year 2017-2018 as basis in developing a reading intervention package. The study used quantitative approach. Data were gathered from the results of the Philippine informal reading inventory to determine the learners' reading speed, word recognition and reading comprehension.
