This study was conducted in nine selected resorts in Pangasinan. The major purpose of this study is to assess the sustainability of the resort industry in Pangasinan where tourism is starting to flourish with its beautiful beaches and rich marine resources for the past decade. The study used a descriptive survey that describes the nature of the phenomenon under investigation after the survey of trends, practices, and conditions was made. The study focused on social, economic, and environmental aspects of sustainability. Findings showed that marketing strategies in promoting community was the most implemented in terms ot social sustainability. Economic sustainability also showed that marketing strategy was the most implemented. Programs on waste management were the most implemented in the aspect of environmental sustainability. Overall, all the strategies for the three aspects were moderately implemented. For the utilization of strategies, social sustainability emphasized on a socio-cultural aspect which showed that employing local people from the community was highly utilized. In terms of economic sustainability, the profitability of capital was the most utilized measure. Environmental sustainability looked into four factors which are energy management strategies, water
conservation, environmental education, and waste management and recycling. All of the areas for envionmental SUstairabity of resort industries in this study showed that all of the measures were moderately utilized. Challenges encountered by resort for the social sustainability indicated that lack of livelihood programs was the most encountered social problem of the respondents.
Economic sustainability showed that incompetent salaries and wages of employees were the most encountered by the respondents. Lastly, lack of implementation on energy management was the most encountered environmental problem of the respondents. Nonetheless, all measures of all aspects indicated fairly encountered. The researcher concluded that most of the status and strategies of the areas in terms of social, economic, and social sustainability were moderately implemented and utilized. Challenges encountered by the resort industries were fairly encountered. This showed that the sustainability of the resort industries in Pangasinan that were surveyed was somehow even. Promotional video on the sustainability of resort industry was the main output of this study. Thus, the researcher recommended the resort owners and managers to use this as a tool to develop strategies and improve the sustainability of resort industry in Pangasinan.
