A training program allow teachers to strengthen their skills that need to improve. These trainings improve productivity, performance and help reduce any weak links within the any institution. Also, these offers teachers with the expertise they need in order to fulfill their role, make a clear understanding of their responsibilities and make a positive impact on classroom. The skills they learn empower them to deliver a better quality of work with a fast turnaround rate.

This study aimed to propose a training program for effective teaching of science in the second congressional district of Pangasinan. The respondents of the study were public science teachers and school heads from selected public schools in the second congressional district of Pangasinan and were determine through multi-stage sampling. Data gathered though a questionnaire were treated and analyzed using descriptive, correlational and developmental designs of research.

It found out that majority of respondent science teachers are Teacher III, have masteral units, and with length of service as a science teacher that ranges from 1-10 years. Moreover, there is no significant relationship between the respondent science teachers' extents of content knowledge and the work-related profile variables highest educational attainment, teaching position, attendance in in-service training in science, and number of years of teaching science. The respondent science teachers are likely to have a low level of pedagogical knowledge in using varied teaching strategies and instructional materials in teaching science.

The study concludes that science teachers in 2nd Congressional District of Pangasinan need to attend or organize training programs especially on science. Based from the findings and conclusion, the study recommended that the proposed training program be used or pattered in conducting seminars or trainings programs.
