520 | _aThis study assessed the causal relationship of resilience to subjective wellbeing and psychological distress as mediated by mindfulness and coping as well as the prevalent psychosocial issues and intervention needs among college students. Psychometric self-report measures of resilience, subjective wellbeing, psychological distress, mindfulness, and coping as well as researcher-made needs assessment questionnaire and researcher-made post-program evaluation tool were administered to 365 college students. Results showed that mindfulness, adaptive, and maladaptive coping partially mediate the predictive association of resilience subjective wellbeing and that mindfulness, adaptive, and maladaptive coping fully mediate the predictive association of resilience to psychological distress. These results set clear direction in establishing outcome-oriented assessment standard of resilience as change in subjective wellbeing and psychological distress. Results also showed that most prevalent psychosocial issues faced by college students are school-related concerns, anxiety, and stress and that they identified psychosocial skills and strengths-enhancement program as an urgent psychosocial intervention that they need. These results led to the development of a structured psychoeducational intervention program for languishing college students with synchronous and asynchronous modalities. 45 languishing college students joined the pilot program implementation and evaluation. Results of comparative analysis of post-program scales showed that both modalities are generally effective in improving the identified resilience outcomes in this study. Adoption and improvement of the crafted program by Saint Louis College is recommended. | ||
