520			_aThis study assessed the Divine Word College of Urdaneta (DWCU) Library as basis for a five-year development plan. Specifically, it looked into the extent of compliance of the DWCU library with the PAASCU library standards along administration, holdings/ collections, personnel, financial support, services and use and physical facilities; level of satisfaction of the faculty and students on circulation services, reference services, and physical facilities; and strengths and weaknesses of the DWCU Library. A five-year validated development plan was formulated and proposed for the DWCU Library. The descriptive method of research with questionnaire as data gathering instrument was used in this study. The study was conducted at DWCU during the Second Semester of School Year 2014-2015 with the administration, faculty, and students as respondents. Data were treated with descriptive statistics particularly the weighted mean. The following are the salient findings of the study: The extent of compliance of the DWCU Library with PAASCU standards was moderate. The faculty and students were much satisfied with the services and physical facilities of the DWCU library. The DWCU library had level of satisfaction of respondents and extent of compliance with PAASCU library standards along physical facilities, services and use, and collection/ holdings as strengths; its weaknesses were on personnel, financial support, and administration. The five-year development plan for DWCU Library was formulated in order to address its weaknesses. Based on the findings of this study, the following conclusions were drawn: The DWCU Library operates on average standards. The faculty and students enjoy the DWCU library services and physical facilities. The DWCU Library has the capability to operate efficiently. The five-year development program is workable. Based on the findings and conclusions of the study, the thesis researcher offered the following recommendations: The DWCU Library should adopt the five-year development program. The DWCU librarian should prepare an action plan for the implementation of the five-year development program. The DWCU library should conduct a fund raising program/activity in order to augment the institutional budget for a better operation. Future researchers should conduct similar studies in other libraries which are aiming for accreditation and excellence in education.
