520 | _aThe study utilized descriptive-correlational-developmental research design. The respondents were the 376 teachers from the public elementary schools in Pangasinan I. This number was the sample size of the 6,178 population of the said teachers in the three congressional districts in Pangasinan I. A survey-questionnaire was used in the study as its data gathering instrument. Data gathered from the respondents were subjected to statistical analysis. Percentage was used to describe the respondents' profile (e.g. educational qualifications, number of research units earned in the graduate programs, and number of researches or studies published). Weighted Mean was utilized to determine the respondents' level of research aptitude and the degree of seriousness of the research aptitude-related problems the encountered. The Chi-square Test of Independence (X2) was employed to determine if there was significant correlation between the respondents' level of research aptitude and the highest degree of education they attained. Lastly, Pearson's Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient was used to describe the relationship between the level of research aptitude of the respondents and the variables: number of graduate research units they earned; and their attendance in research seminars. | ||
