520 | _aThe earth is crying. The ecological situation of the Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia is an evidence of this cry. This ecological crisis is only part of the bigger problem. This is the sign of the time. The earth as place for man to live is being destroyed. Not by other factors but by man's activities and abuses for the gifts entrusted to him. Man is formed in the image and likeness of God. He has the intellect to think and act for his own good and good for all. He is called to become a steward of from the very beginning of creation. His faith is a response to the revelation of God. Caring for the earth must be his expression of faith in God, his creator and giver of gifts. As a creature of God, he has the responsibility and mission to care and respect the earth. Thus, earth communities are necessary to remind that man is a creature of God Building earth communities is bringing out the ecological element of the mission of the Church. This is the manifestation of the continual work in creation of God and salvation for all. | ||
