Fusion of horizons : understanding vis-à-vis experiencing the philosophy of the human person / Niño Randy C. Flores. - Saint Louis College : [s.n.], 2020. - xii, 241 pages : illustration ; 28 centimeter.
References: pages 141-154.
The study examined the challenges the participants encountered in the teaching-learning process in the Philosophy of the Human Person using the interpretive phenomenological design. The data were collected through individual interviews with the Department Head of Religious Education of Saint Louis College High School, the 3 teachers of the said subject, and 16 college students who graduated from Senior High School during the School Years 2017-2018 and 2018-2019. The gathered responses were converted into the intelligent verbatim transcript as part of the Repertory Grid. This study produced the Hermeneutic-Pedagogical Theory model for teaching the Philosophy of the Human Person to the Senior High School students, which is developed from the themes
extracted from the responses, namely: Interpretive Understanding, Pedagogical Area, and Interrelationality. The proposed model signifies the approach to teach the subject in a dialogue-oriented, situation-based, and open-ended way to produce a dialogical perspective among the students, the subject teachers, and the Department Head by appropriating the philosophical concepts of the human person with their personal experiences.
