A curriculum map for the enhancement of language and literature competencies among college students was developed based on the competency gap revealed in a survey of the actual competencies possessed by college students in the SVD HEIs of the Northern Province and those perceived to be needed by tertiary students in the 21" century. The survey was responded to by the tertiary students, General Education (GE) faculty, Language and Literature faculty and end-users in Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra and Urdaneta in Northern Luzon. The study was guided by English's concept of a curriculum map and Tyler's steps in curriculum development Six experts in language and literature instruction who come from prestigious universities and colleges in the Philippines content validated the curriculum map. A questionnaire was used as a tool for the data-base survey, while a content validation scale was utilized in the assessment of the map.
