The study developed the Professional Development Plan for Senior High School Master Teachers in Schools Division Office 1 Pangasinan. It determined the professional profile, level of capability and the professional development needs or the priority for development of Senior High School (SHS) Master Teachers based on the seven domains of Philippine Professional Standards for
Teachers (PPST): content knowledge and pedagogy, learning environment, diversity of learners, curriculum and planning, assessment and reporting, community linkages and professional engagement and personal growth and professional development. This study utilized the quantitative- descriptive cross- sectional survey research design on the professional profile, level of capability and priority for development of SHS Master Teachers in Schools Division Office 1 (SDO1) Pangasinan. The primary instrument used in this study is the Self-Assessment Tool (SAT) which was developed to find out the professional development needs
of the SHS Master Teachers. The data gathered were analyzed and interpreted using frequency, percentages, average weighted mean and Pearson r. Based on the analysis of data gathered, it was evident that SHS Master Teachers have high level of capability but still have great desires to be trained on all the seven domains of PPST. Moreover, findings revealed that highest educational attainment is significantly correlated to curriculum and planning. The higher is the educational attainment of the SHS Master Teachers, the better is their capability on curriculum content and planning lessons. Also, the teaching experience of SHS Master Teachers is strongly correlated to community linkages and professional engagement. This means that teachers with longer teaching
experience have better linkages to the stakeholders. Furthermore, the number of trainings attended has significant relationship to content knowledge and pedagogy. This implies that the greater the number of trainings attended, the better the knowledge on the content as well as the strategies being utilized in the classroom setting. Furthermore, SHS Master Teachers have high priority for development which denotes that they still need to develop and enhance further their capabilities in order to better serve their students and other stakeholders. The Three-Year Professional Development Plan formulated in this study is projected to serve as a basis to improve the level of capability of SHS Master Teachers in SDO1 Pangasinan.
